The virtual space for artistic works with the moving image and for experimental audiovisual formats at the Academy of Media Arts has a new name: MOOZ.
The platform for close-up views of artistic projects and productions, which is also known far beyond the KHM, now works with the principle of mirroring: MOOZ reflects the multi-layered sequences and formats, mirroring back into the virtual spaces what has not yet been perceived or what has just been produced. MOOZ thus also brings about a change of perspective: it is not only about looking at and into the predominantly short, audiovisual forms and discoveries of vlog, found footage, essay film, documentary and performative formats, abstract and experimental, installative arrangements, but also with which lens, which focus, which zoom the moving image works look back at the equally differentiated and polyphonic world of the users.
MOOZ's principle of mirroring is also to be understood programmatically: because each project is reflected by a different voice that thinks with the artistic works, directs a specific focus on them and encourages viewers to make their own projections.
